SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS: RAJKOT

Identifying the major problems faced by the Indian entrepreneurs like, lack of supportive business eco system and mentoring India SME Forum had organized its 5th Business Leadership Series at Rajkot on 25th November 2014 at The Grand Bhagwati Hotel, in the presence of over 120 delegates. The program was presented by Reliance Commercial Finance and was powered by ebay.in.

In the Workshop entrepreneurs were guided on various issued faced by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) by the finest experts and mentors from the industry. From a pool of business mentors and consultants, the Guest Speakers for Rajkot included Mr. Vinod Kumar, Managing Partner-India & Middle East, SDRC India Advisors LLP; Mr. Nimesh Parikh, Head-Risk Containment Unit and Policy Function, Reliance Commercial Finance & Home Finance; Mr. Rishi Sabhaya, Director, Rishi Cast Pvt. Ltd.

According to Director General, India SME Forum, Ms. Sushma Morthania, “the Indian entrepreneurs constantly strive and struggle to overcome challenging business situations single handed. The business leadership series is a guiding workshop through our pool of mentors for the leaders of tomorrow.” She further added,”Entrupreners in india acknowledged lack of professional guidance for their business and considered it to be the second biggest barrier, after government policies, in smooth running or scaling up their business.”

The first session was initiated by Mr.Vinod Kumar, Country Manager & Senior Partner – India & Middle East -SDRC INDIA ADVISORS LLP. He insisted that ‘money grows on trees’ and he linked it to a person without formal qualifications turning into a successful industrialist. He also stated to “Treat your business like your baby” here, he connected the baby’s growth to the business growth and explained the nurturing that one needs to provide for expansion.

In the second session Mr. Kumar explained “Getting more for less” which elaborated CUSTOMERS, MARKETS, BRAND management for the business.

The workshop also included some live examples of local businessmen who have notched up a sizeable business for themselves and have ability to scale up with a wish to grow further. The session concluded by one-to-one interactive session with the mentor (Mr. Nimesh Parikh, Mr. Rishi Sabhaya), where assembled entrepreneurs participated enthusiastically to clear their doubts on various aspects of funding, branding and managing growth for profitability.
