SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS:AHMEDABAD
Small and Medium Entrepreneurs in India have constantly fought social mindset, tough government policies and lack of ecosystem for supporting and growing business. To enable the business ecosystem and to address the second largest issue faced by entrepreneurs, the India SME Forum organized its 4th forum of the Business Leadership Series at Ahmadabad. The program was presented by Reliance Commercial Finance and powered by ebay.in, which took place 22nd November 2014 at The Fern Hotel, in the presence of over 100 SMEs.
Networking over the tea, the delegates interacted among themselves to analyze real life business situations and arrive at a compelling conclusion which helped them to be in the right path ahead for every given business stage.
Guest speakers and mentors for the event included Mr.Suketu Harani, Proprietor, Krishna Enterprise; Mr.Suresh Bherwani, Managing Director, Global Energy Food Industries Pvt Ltd; Mr. Nimesh Parikh, Head-Risk Containment Unit and Policy Function, Reliance Commercial Finance & Home Finance, Mr.Ajay Thakur, Head-BSE SME and Mr. Vinod Kumar, Managing Partner-India & Middle East, SDRC India Advisors LLP.
Ms. Sushma Morthania, Director General, India SME Forum, stated the lack of guidance for the Indian SMEs and the need to propel them. To bridge this gap between the industry experts and the SMEs, India SME Forum has launched Business Leadership Series in 20 cities across india, with the target of enrolling 2 lack entrepreneurs and providing them with mentor support from a pool of 90 highly recommended business mentors, 200 industry specific consultants and successful entrepreneurs who have thrown in their support for the initiative.
Mr.Vinod Kumar, insisted that ‘money grows on trees’ and he linked it to a person without formal qualifications turning into a business tycoon. Business leaders got a chance to interact with the Mentor and resolve their business question in the Q & A session at the event.
In the second session Mr. Kumar explained “Getting more for less” by mentioning case studies of SMEs who have notched up a sizeable business for themselves and have ability to scale up as well as grow further.
The session concluded by one-to-one interactive session with the mentor Mr. Nimesh Parikh and Mr.Ajay Thakur, where assembled entrepreneurs participated enthusiastically to clear their doubts on various aspects of funding, branding and managing growth for profitability.
