SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS: VIJAYAWADA
The 11th city of the Business Leadership Series presented by Reliance Commercial Finance and powered by ebay.in took place on 22nd December 2014 at The Fortune Murali Park, Vijayawada in the presence of over 45 SMEs.
The workshop started by lamp lighting ceremony by Mr. Vamsi Kumar- Business Head - Vehicle Finance & Equipment Leasing, Reliance Commercial Finance, Mr.R .K. Prasad-Secretary, The Andhra Chambers of Commerce & Industry Federation, Mr.Murali Krishna-President, The Andhra Chambers of Commerce & Industry Federation, Ms.Sushma Morthania and Mr.Vinod Kumar, Country Manager & Senior Partner – India & Middle East -SDRC INDIA ADVISORS LLP.
Ms. Sushma Morthania, Director General, India SME Forum initiated the workshop by stating the need for Mentoring the Leaders of tomorrow. She added that working closely with SMEs and providing them recognition, facilitation, knowledge and adequate ecosystem through various events, is when India SME Forum identified the need to provide mentoring to the entrepreneurs on specific issues pertaining to Finance, Marketing and Branding. Business Leadership Series aims at felicitating the scope of growth and expansion of the eligible SMEs.
The first session was initiated by Mr.Vinod Kumar, Country Manager & Senior Partner – India & Middle East -SDRC INDIA ADVISORS LLP. He insisted that ‘money grows on trees’ and he linked it to a person without formal qualifications turning into a business tycoon. He also stated to “Treat your business like your baby” here, he connected the baby’s growth to the business growth and the nurturing that one would provide for expansion.
In the second session Mr. Kumar explained “Getting more for less” by mentioning L&T and Pune-based Parag Milk Foods (PMF) as two diverse case studies of how businesses have grown into dominant players through constant innovation from the process of pooling the resources to selling their products to customers.
The workshop also included some live examples of Mr.Subaraidu, Proprietor, Rohit Press and Mr.Mohamed Fazal, Director, National Agro Industries who have notched up a sizeable business for themselves and have ability to scale up with a wish to grow further.
The session concluded by one-to-one interactive session with the mentor (Mr.Vinod Kumar, Mr. Vamsi Kumar), where assembled entrepreneurs participated enthusiastically to clear their doubts on various aspects of funding, branding and managing growth for profitability.
