SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS: PONDICHERRY

India SME Forum commenced Business Leadership Series, program in 20 cities across the country. The 7th forum of Business Leadership Series took place at Hotel Accord, Pondicherry on 9th December 2014, where over 120 SMEs and local entrepreneurs vigorously participated in the forum. The program was supported by Reliance Commercial Finance, eBay India, MSME Ministry, BSE SME, SDRC India, and Mahindra & Mahindra.

In the Workshop entrepreneurs were guided on various issued faced by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) by the finest experts and mentors from the industry. From a pool of business mentors , consultants & Guest Speakers Pondicherry forum was conducted by Mr. Vinod Kumar, Managing Partner-India & Middle East, SDRC India Advisors LLP; Mr.Sanjay Athalye, Chief Risk Officer, Reliance Commercial Finance & Home Finance; Mr. Abhay Bhat, Manager - Seller Services Marketing, eBay India Pvt. Ltd.; Mr.Kesavan, Director, PolyPets; Mr. Ravi Raj, Managing Director, Ranekotech.

Here, at the forum the entrepreneurs received key insights on FINANCE FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH, CUSTOMERS, MARKETS, BRANDS & MEDIA. Entrepreneurs were asked to treat their businesses like their ‘babies’, connecting the baby’s growth to the business growth and the nurturing that one would provide for business expansion.

Tips on planning, saving, investing, business practices, capital and fiscal discipline were shared with small scale industrialist and entrepreneurs.

Ms. Sushma Morthania, Director General, India SME Forum informed that participants will continue to get hand-holding support, consultancy and advisories from nearly 90 ampanelled business mentors. Mr.Vinod Kumar, Country Manager & Senior Partner – India & Middle East -SDRC INDIA ADVISORS LLP, explained how loan sanctioning norms were different between non-banking finances companies and Public sector banks.
