SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS: MADURAI
The lack of a supportive business eco system and mentoring has been identified as the major issues for Indian entrepreneurs. To overcome these issues The India SME Forum organized 9th forum of the Business Leadership Series on 16th December 2014 at The Taj Gateway Hotel Pasumalai, Madurai in the presence of over 55 SMEs. The program is supported by Reliance Commercial Finance, eBay India, MSME Ministry, BSE SME, SDRC India, and Mahindra & Mahindra.
The workshop started with lamp lighting ceremony by Mr.K. P.Murugan, Vice President, MADITSSIA; Mr.C.Brindavan, President, VIDITSSIA; Mr.S.Rethinavelu, Sr.President, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Ms.Sushma Morthnia, Director General, India SME Forum. According to Ms. Sushma Morthania, Director General, India SME Forum, “The India entrepreneur constantly strives and struggles to overcome challenging business situations single handed. The Business Leadership Series of India SME Forum endeavors to offer that ray of hope through the pool of mentors who would constantly engage and handhold these entrepreneurs when they need them most.” With an objective to enlighten entrepreneurs in the best business practices and thereby boost profit and growth, Business Leadership Series provided a platform for SMEs to interact with highly recommended business mentors and industry specific consultants.
The one-day educational and interactive program addressed critical issues of entrepreneurship in Finance, Marketing, and Branding. The program is divided into two modules Part A: GROWING MONEY ON TREES: FINANCE FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH Part B: 'MORE FOR LESS' - CUSTOMERS, MARKETS, BRANDS & MEDIA The program comprised Case studies of successful entrepreneurs, Mr.CN ILan Kumaran, Managing Director, Harshitha Hospital Pvt Ltd and Mr.KPS Manoharan, Managing Director, Laxmiselvaraaj Tex Pvt Ltd. who have already notched up a sizeable business for themselves and have ability to scale up. The participants also interacted among themselves to analyze real life business situations and arrive at a compelling conclusion which helped them to be in the right path ahead for every give business stage.
